Sapphires, for instance, can be found in blue, pink, yellow, and many more.

Although they are sold by carat weight, keep in mind that because gemstones are made of different minerals, they will have different densities. For example, a ruby and an emerald can both weigh 1 ct, but their size will measure differently.

Gemstone prices vary based on their Color (how vivid, or saturated, their hue), Cut (their shape and symmetry and how precise the facets are arranged and polished), and Clarity (how free the stone is of inclusions and exclusions). A stone's rarity, durability, and popularity are also key factors that influence their final value.
