Shopping for Wedding Bands? Here are Some Helpful Tips to Get You Started
While
men’s wedding band styles are usually simpler and more straightforward,
options for
women’s wedding bands can be fairly abundant.
Picking one that matches or complements the engagement ring is always a great idea
so she can decide to wear them together or separately on any given day. The
engagement ring usually dictates a lot about the wedding band choice but there are
still some questions you’ll need to think about:
1) The first thing to consider when selecting a woman’s diamond or gemstone
wedding band is to find the style she will love the most. The most popular
types of wedding band setting styles are
Pavè & Prong,
Bezel & Channel,
5-Stone & 7-Stone,
Fashion & Color,
All Metal, and
Eternity Bands. Read more about
Setting Methods to determine which
is best for you.
2) Since bands can sometimes spin around the finger, wearing an eternity ring is
a great way to keep the diamonds shining all over. The number and size of
the stones in an eternity band are based on the wearer’s finger size and the
total diamond weight selected. For example, a 2 ct total weight in a size
6 might be made with 20 stones weighing approximately 0.10 ct each while the same
total weight in a size 7 might have 22 stones each approximately 0.09 ct.
While minor finger size adjustments are sometimes possible after the ring is made,
it’s best to be as accurate as you can before ordering. Request or download

3) The wedding band’s diamond quality should match the engagement ring’s
center diamond as closely as possible, especially in terms of the
Color grade, which is more noticeable in smaller
diamonds than
Clarity or
Cut. Likewise, the precious metal you choose should be the same
as what the engagement ring is made of. Learn more about your
metal choices so you can make the most-informed
decision.
4) All of our men's and women's plain bands are comfort-fit, which means
the inside of the band is slightly domed. This makes it easier to slide the ring
over your knuckle and more comfortable to wear. They are produced to order, ideally
proportioned and are typically heavier than similar styles from other manufacturers.
